TITLE
Organizational Title: “Assistant Pastor”
Functional Title: “Lead Worshipper”

INTRODUCTION
South Hills Church Community in Henderson, Nevada is a thriving, growing, relevant community of passionate worshippers.  Services at South Hills are attended by many young families and students, and worship at the church has been described as contemporary and organic, exuberant and passionate, refreshing and real.   As we grow into our new church campus, and as our current worship leader plans to attend medical school in the fall, we are looking for someone to carry the torch and lead us in worship as we build and occupy our new church campus.

MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Lead God’s people to worship through music.

* Work in concert with the pastoral staff, taking a leadership role in planning church services and events.

* Working through ministry teams, provide a dynamic worship experience that engages the minds and hearts of the people of the church community.

*  Encourage participation and growth within the music ministry and creative leadership team.

*  Help to implement a strategy in your specific area of ministry to embody our five pillars of worship, evangelism, discipleship, prayer and service.

* Oversee additional ministry where gifts, interests, and church needs coincide. (examples: family ministry, worship, creative programming, special events, etc).

*  Be available to lead worship for other ministry areas of the church where it fits your schedule and where requested by the Lead Pastor.

 
Specific Expectations

* Work 45-50 hours per week with a balance between office, the work of the church community, contacts within our church community and activities related to your ministry.  (Please see separate sheet on philosophy of work for full-time staff)

* Fulfill the requirements of licensure by the Central Pacific District of the Christian & Missionary Alliance with the expectation that you will want to move toward ordination in the future.

* Recruit, schedule, and confirm musicians; publish a schedule to the church calendar.

* Participate and take a leadership role in developing a program calendar for the church at least six months into the future that includes regular Sunday celebration themes, special events, and creative integration with the ongoing ministry of the church community.

* Be involved in the network of worship leaders in the Las Vegas valley and work to promote unity among churches especially among worship professionals.

* Attend the weekly staff meeting and be prepared to report on important developments in your area of ministry.

* Be involved in a Finish Line Group and promote FLG’s in our church community and seek to multiply your FLG.

* Practice the four areas of personal growth and development that we champion for our church: personal daily quiet time, involvement in a Finish Line Group, involvement in organic fellowships and attendance at our weekly celebration services.
