South Hills Church Community

 

I write this to you with just 13 days left in the Dominican Republic. On April 21, I am set to head back to the United States for a month. Check out the article below to find out where I will be! It has been a wonderful spring here in the Dominican Republic working with Short-term teams, as they have left their lives in the U.S. for just a week, leaving forever changed! I am blessed and honored to see each person open their arms and hearts to the nationals we serve here on the Island. God is certainly moving and gaining strength here and I am proud to be a part of this movement.

 

We are preparing for the summer teams, and construction is almost finished at Hato del Yaque, our new Hub/ Dormitory facility to house short-term teams this summer. This project began in 2004. In fact, on my first trip to the D.R., our team worked on this project when it was nothing but a grassy field. This Hub is a two story building. On the first floor is a nutrition center that will feed over 100 of the neediest kids in Hato del Yaque a hot meal 6 days a week and also men's and women's dorm rooms and bathrooms. The top floor with be the new church that overlooks this rural community.
